I have exactly the same problem with Pro Tools Fast Track Essentials. PLEASE HELP! SPENT A LOT OF MONEY AND CAN'T USE MY PRODUCT! I have checked all my gear against the compatibility page at digidesign and appear OK except digi has not tested my mobo (EVGA 680i SLI) but I have found others who are using this board. I have updated drivers and firmware for my mobo, gpu and dvd drive. I tried the DVD on a laptop (XP Pro SP3) and it quickly loads the installer. I have waited 15-20min for it to load without touching my PC, still nothing. I noticed in the task manager there is a "Setup.exe" started by my user after inserting the DVD. I tried restarting the explorer process to no avail. If I click on the PT8 DVD the explorer window freezes. firefox) nor can I shut down my system completely.
